Back to Halloween
I know we’re past it, but I want to share my Halloween projects. My oldest son wanted to be a peregrine falcon for Halloween. I don’t buy costumes and I don’t sew much, but I do like to make the kids’ costumes. For this one, I bought a black hoodie sweatshirt and some brown faux leather. The fabric turned out to be perfect because it didn’t fray and the embossed pattern resembled feathers.
I made a feather template out of paper and proceeded to cut about 50 “feathers” over the course of a few days. I glued them to the sweatshirt using FabriTac, which held really well. I made a beak out of yellow craft foam, but that didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped.
This year all four kids wore costumes I made, but only this one did I have to make this year. I’m glad they were happy with re-using old costumes!
I was impressed with how nice it looked even though it didn't take a lot of time.
What a great costume. I think he looks terrific. Way to use your creativity.
