Mother’s Day Cards

These are the cards I made last year for my mother and my mother-in-law.  My mom likes pastels and my MIL likes warmer colors, so I made the color scheme a little different with each one.

I used the Silhouette to cut out “Mom” and “Mother” out of vinyl, because I can get it so detailed!  I cut a lot of little butterflies out of vellum and cut the large butterflies out of blue pattern paper.  I used the same butterfly shape’s offset to cut a matching butterfly-shaped hole out of the center of the tag.  I think the only thing I didn’t use the Silhouette for was the scallop edge on the paper strip at the top.  That was done with a Stampin’ Up! border punch.  And of course I had to add some rhinestones and glitter glue by the time I finished the second card.

I know Easter’s not here yet, but it’s not too early to start thinking about Mother’s Day, is it?

  • Thanks, Lori! I usually cut extra butterflies to have on hand to use whenever the need arises. And the need arises a lot in the spring and summer. 😉
