Design Diva Submissions

I met my first deadline today with Heartland Paper as one of the Design Divas. I made a layout about myself and a few more cards. These were required for the entire design team. I can’t wait to go back to the store to see what everyone else made for this assignment.

My first card is a variation of the movable popsicle card from this post. (I can’t help myself…I almost never make a card the same way the second time, even if I start from the same pattern.) You can’t see it very well in this picture, but the little “highlight” strips are covered with Diamond Glaze to add a little shine, and the “COOL” letters have Stickles glitter glue.

This is a scrapbook page with some interesting facts about me. These pattern papers are from the new “Out of Print” line from Basic Grey. Pretty, aren’t they? I used the Silhouette machine to add some decorative edges to the paper blocks and to make the black swirly strip across the middle. I used the Slice machine on small scraps to cut out the butterflies and then added rhinestones.

And a closeup shot showing the butterflies, and a little bit of my digital brushwork on the photo:

Here’s an invitation to an open house. This one’s a bit “interactive” with a gate that opens using ribbon for the hinge.

  • I like interactive cards. 🙂 The back on the gate is from the same paper line as the rest. The chipboard is self-adhesive, so I just pressed it against the paper and cut around it with my exacto knife.
