Teacher Gift: Tissue Box Covers

Tissue box cover

I made these tissue box covers for my kids’ elementary school teachers. What teacher doesn’t go through a lot of tissues in a year, right? This cover will go over both Kleenex-brand square tissue boxes and Kirkland-brand (Costco) square tissue boxes.

I shared this cutting file for the tissue boxes last year based on a Split Coast Stampers Tutorial, but finally got around to making three more box covers for the kids’ current teachers. I used my Cameo to cut the base out of cardstock: 1 piece of 12×12″ and a matching piece of 8.5×11″ cardstock (the blue, red, and green is from Bazzill) for each tissue box. The pattern paper and punch outs are from a coordinating set by Imaginisce, the orange polka dot paper strips are punched with a scallop-edge punch (Stampin’ Up!) on a paper by TCP Studio.

I think the teachers were very happy with these.  Practical and decorative all at the same time.  And with the coordinating punch-outs with the school-themed paper, these were so fast to whip together!

Here are the three boxes, all sides:

  • Those are so cute, the teachers will love them. Tis the sniffle season so what a nice gift to have on your desk rather then a plain box of tissues. Hugs, Lori m

    • Oh, Dayna I think you could! If you click on the link above for Split Coast Stampers, you can see how to assemble it. All I did for these boxes was add a rectangle of coordinating pattern paper and a large "sticker" (punch-out with foam adhesive) to each side, and some border strips. It's easier than you think. 🙂

  • Hi Kelly, I have made these by hand, using the SCS tutorial, but would be thrilled to be able to use my Cameo! However, the download link did not work for me…tried it several times. it said downloading, then restarting, then repairing, then restarting again, but it didn't work. Anyway, your tissue boxes are amazing and decorated so cleverly! I just love them! I would love to make one for every room in my house (have 1 in master bed. & 1 in kitchen) & some for gifts, too!
    Thanks for sharing-Stacv

  • oh, wow! thank you so much for sharing this file and i can't wait to cut it tomorrow! i have just spent an hour trying to make my own file and i have it sooooooo close but i just can't get it perfect. i will pin this to pinterest so others can see your great idea!

    • Thanks, Beth, and I'm glad I could help with the file. I've made many of these boxes now, and still will be making more for this year's teachers.
