Excuses, Excuses

I do have some projects to post soon, but I’ve had a setback in my crafting abilities.  I had a kitchen accident almost a week ago and lost a couple of fingertips on my left hand.  I’ll spare you the details, but with the recovery it’s just taking a lot longer to finish off my projects I’ve started (not to mention take pictures and type).  So please be patient and don’t forget about me if my posts are few and far between for a couple of weeks.

In other news, I’ve started posting little snippets of my days on Instagram, if you’re interested in following my Instagram feed.  I’ve added a button under my profile photo to the right.  (You can get some sneak-peeks of my projects before I post them here on my blog.)

And now I’ll leave you with the Instagram photo I took last Sunday evening after returning from InstaCare.

Nothing like some Memorial Day weekend excitement!

  • What?!!! Oh my goodness, losing a couple of fingertips is a pretty good excuse. Of course we will all be here when you return to full health. I am so very sorry. I hope you heal well and fast! I send you a big hug and my very best wishes. Take very good care of yourself.

  • Kelly, I feel SO bad for you! Well, it got you out of cooking, so you may be thinking that's not such a bad thing, but I sure hate to think of you being in pain. I hope it heals very quickly.

My dad was a surgeon who cut the tips off of three fingers in a table saw accident. He thought he'd never operate again, but they healed well enough that he could, and he only had one fingernail that was just half there. I hope you fare much better than that, but you will have a good, useable hand anyway.

  • Ouch, ouch, ouch!!! Twist in my stomach kind of ouch! Taking a shower will not be taken for granted for some time. I know you'll miss your crafts so I hope you do get to find an outlet until you can craft properly again – maybe reading a craft book? As I've experienced with losing my fingertip, french manicures and add-ons are amazing. I do hope you'll heal soon!

  • I guess finger tips are better than a half a finger which my dad did. I hope you recover quickly.

  • Hi Kelly,

Oh DEAR – I know how painful this can be… strange enough, just a week or so ago I sliced into the side of one of my own digits and part way into the nail and THAT alone was awful! I pray you heal right up. Thanks for sharing.

I've been awol too – so nice to come visit. I will check out your instagram and add you:)
