Girls Camp Secret Sister Gifts (Day 2)
Another day of secret-sister gifts at our LDS girls camp will surprise our recipients with body wash and a pink feather boa. Yes, a feather boa. The body wash samples and the boas were more donations that are great for a small girly gift. You can read about the first round of gifts here.
The body wash samples came in a clever little envelope whose sides need to be squeezed to release the bottle. I didn’t want to change that, so I used some flocked paper to cover it up. I love the soft flocked My Mind’s Eye Lush paper, but my Silhouette Cameo did not. I made a photocopy of the envelope and traced it in Silhouette Studio so I could get the perfect little cutout for the bottle. That part worked great, but the flocked paper filled my blade housing with flock so quickly while cutting that I was pausing it and unscrewing the blade cap every 15 seconds just to get it to continue cutting most of the way through. I blame the paper, not my machine.
I also covered the back side of the envelope with the polka-dot flocked paper, but I used a paper trimmer and corner rounder to save me from more aggravation.
The crown is my own design, which you can download here. It’s a page ready to print & cut on your Silhouette machine so you can fill it with color and/or text (don’t forget to turn off cut lines for the text), or just turn off the registration marks and cut as many as you need.
The poem reads:
But still a little pampering can’t hurt.
With body wash and a boa to impress,
You’ll always remain the perennial princess.
Love,
Your Secret Sister”
(My clever brother-in-law helped me with that one. Thanks, Jeremy!)
Total cost for 18 of these was under a dollar for the paper (I found a really good clearance deal), and the body wash and boas were donated.
A very cute Girly presents. They will enjoy this.
Thank you, Lora!
So sweet and feminine! They're going love these!
