Tree Mail for Secret Sister Gifts at Camp
I got all of my secret sister gifts finished for girls camp, and even had time to make 18 of these fabric pouches to hold them all! Originally I was going to use iron-on hem tape to make it easy, but truly it was faster to sew them all. Even I can do a straight stitch on a sewing machine!
I got this very clever tree-mail idea from Creative Capital B and just used her measurements. It turned out well for housing the gifts our girls secretly left in them each day of camp. I used the print & cut feature of my Silhouette to print & cut all the labels (personalized with each name), then sandwiched each label between clear transfer tape to seal it in. I wasn’t sure if it would rain during that week, and it turned out that it did a little, so I was glad I took the extra step of waterproofing. I just used a little safety pin to fasten the label to the pouch.
The fabric was donated, so all I bought was the twine for about $1.50 to string these up near the cabin. (About $0.08 for each pocket.)
