A little motivation…

coin-treat-1

I get the enjoyable job of helping our Young Women get through their Personal Progress requirements. We have set a goal for each girl to get a ribbon by Young Women in Excellence in November. I whipped up these little reminders to keep them thinking about this goal.

(If you’re LDS, you probably know what I’m talking about. If not, I’ll just tell you that Personal Progress is a program in place for young women ages 12-18 to set goals that help them develop talents, skills, and grow closer to Jesus Christ.)

I bought a bunch of chocolate coins and placed two in each bag. It’s a 3″ x 5.5″ glassine bag I embossed with a chevron folder in my Cuttlebug. The pennants and medallions are cut with my Cameo, and I did the circle as a print & cut, also with my Cameo. For 20 bags I used a single piece of 12×12″ Echo Park pattern paper, less than a full page of American Crafts yellow textured cardstock, and a single 8.5 x 11″ piece of Epson premium matte presentation paper.

The girls loved them! (What’s not to like about chocolate in a cute little decorated bag?)

  • Hi–I'm new to your blog & to Silhouette. On the bottom picture, the yellow arrowish shape looks thicker than the medallion. Can you tell me what kind of paper you used?
And bless you for encouraging these young women!

    • Karen, the yellow paper for the pennant is actually a medium-weight pattern paper by Echo Park (Style Essentials). The medallion is cut from thicker paper; it's textured cardstock by American Crafts. I popped the medallion off the pennant with dimensional foam adhesive, which may be creating the illusion of a different thickness.

  • What's not to love, indeed! These are very well done, and I'm sure much appreciated by the girls! I liked the medallion so much that I drew one to keep, LOL!
