Crafty Gift Swap

Note Holder 1

I recently got to participate in a gift swap with the Silhouette Design Team. I’m not great at gift selection and gift-giving in general, so I decided to do completely handmade (with the help of my CAMEO, of course).

I have a couple sets of Felicity Jane kits but had not had a chance to use any of the beautiful materials until now.  I chose papers, stamps, and embellishments from the Claire collection to make a note holder for Annie.  (Read here on my original post about making this note holder, which includes a download for the cutting file.)

Once I chose the chevron button for the paper weight, I just selected my ink colors for the Claire stamps to match the button.  It’s been a while since I’ve done much stamping, but I loved working with the Felicity Jane stamps!  Clean and crisp and beautiful.

I cut the note-holder box with my CAMEO from a piece of chevron paper in the Claire kit.  The longest part of this project is cutting and then stamping all the individual notes, but the final result is pretty sweet.

And to finish off the gift, I cut hearts from this flannel chevron fabric and made hand warmers.  I used Silhouette sewable fabric interfacing to the cut the hearts with my CAMEO, then machine-stitched them and filled them with rice to make cute little pocket-sized hand warmers.  (Don’t look too closely at my stitches…a seamstress I am not!)

It was fun to make this little set.  See you again soon!

(P.S. Have you seen my new Tutorials tab at the top of my blog? I’ve updated the format so it’s more organized than my original tutorials page, and I’ve been adding tutorial links that had never made it to the master list.)
