Birthday Watercolor Card
This was a fun watercolor card to make. I used several colors of dye inkpads and a sponge to dab colors all over a piece of watercolor paper, then used a refillable water brush to blend the colors.
I think it looks a lot like I just brushed watercolor paint on with a paintbrush. It was also fun to match this old pattern paper I had in my stash.
And of course, I couldn’t leave my Silhouette CAMEO out of the game, so I created a scalloped rectangle in Silhouette Studio to add a little pink border, along with my happy-birthday sentiment in Silhouette adhesive cardstock. No glue for that intricate lettering, thank goodness. 🙂
I like this font so much (called Sweet Pea), I think I’ll try cutting a stamp with it next, although I suspect the adhesive cardstock is better suited for cutting the small connections between letters. I’ll let you know how it works out.
Font: Sweet Pea
So lovely Kelly! Bright and fresh and artistic looking.
Thanks, Barb!
A very pretty card, Kelly!
Thank you, Gilda! 🙂
I love the sponged bg effect that looks like watercolors. I will give that a try. Would love to know the name of that font. I am getting my courage up to try cutting some sentiments using my Silhouette. kren dot kurts at gmail dot com

I’m a bit behind on your tutorials, but loved this card! Thank you for being so motivational!
You’re welcome, Marilyn! I’m glad you find my projects motivational. 🙂
