Silhouette Studio Lesson: Library

Silhouette Studio Lesson: Library
This Silhouette Studio lesson talks about the Library in your software. How to search for shapes you already have, how to sort your shapes, how to use and create folders and subfolders for organizing your designs, and more. It should also apply to organizing patterns in your Studio Library. This applies to all recent versions of Studio (both Basic and Designer Editions).

  • Kelly, thanks for the video. I recently had a computer crash, got all my files back from Silhouette only to find that the folders were still gone. Do you know a secret for backing the folders up too?

    • I do know a way to back up your own library manually that will keep your folders intact (along with designs you’ve added that are not purchased from Silhouette). What computer and operating system are you using?

  • SUPER interesting video. VERY Informative!!! I didn’t know about the “search feature” or the “show properties”. This will make planning a design so much easier!! THANK YOU

  • I’m behind on going through your tutorials as I just upgraded my computer. Let me just say going from XP to Windows 8 is a transition! Your information is very helpful as I have to import all my files to Silhouette. Thanking you for all your hard work and effort! It is truly appreciated!

    • I’m glad I can help, Marilyn. Good luck with the transition. 🙂 Do you still have access to your files on your old computer? If you do, I can email you a document I’ve made explaining how to directly copy and transfer your full old Library to your new computer. It’s a little more in depth, so I haven’t put it on my website yet.

  • I would like to know how to save all your files on a SD so you have a backup but also so I can use them on a second computer. I recently had a computer crash and it was very hard to find all the files I purchased from sites other than the silhouette. I have a windows 7.

    • Hi Estella. I have a PDF document with those instructions, so I will email it to you. If you don’t get it, please use my contact form to make a second request.
