A Wedding Gift
I just love how this project turned out! I saw this wedding gift idea a long time ago but couldn’t find my notes, so I just did this from memory.
I used an 8×10 frame and its glass. I cut out the couple’s name in regular vinyl with the Silhouette, weeded out the letters, and applied the remaining vinyl to the glass. I used Armor Etch cream in the letters (so easy!) and once I removed the vinyl and cleaned the glass, I cut out “and they lived happily ever after” from fuzzy white vinyl. Regular transfer paper doesn’t work well on fuzzy vinyl, I’ve discovered, so I used scotch tape instead. That worked amazingly well!
For this project it was easy to put a ruler behind the clear glass so I could position the phrase nice and straight. I hope they like it!
It looks awesome.
I'm sure they'll like it. The lettering is so clean and precise. Nicely done!
Oh my! This is fantastic. Bookmarking it for future wedding gifts! I don't have any etching stuff yet, but it's one of the reasons I wanted a Silhouette.
I haven't seen the new Silhouette frosted vinyl in person, but from photos it looks exactly the same as etched glass. Nice to have options, both using the Silhouette.
This is lovely! I'm so glad I found your site :o) Many thanks to the Yahoo Silhouette users forum. You are now in my favourites, and I will most certainly be learning a lot from you!
Could you tell me which font you have used for the white sentence please?
Kind regards
Helen from England
Helen,
That font is CAC Shishoni Brush. You can find it at fonts101.com. Try pasting this in your browser: http://www.fonts101.com/fonts/view/Script/19345/CAC_Shishoni_Brush.aspx
It's one of my favorite script fonts to cut with the Silhouette because it welds so nicely.
Such a great wedding gift idea!!! New brides love stuff with their new names on it!!!
Very Cool.
