Mother’s Day Cards 2011
Bring on the Bling!
I used the glitter sketch pens with the Silhouette for these cards and am really happy with the result.
Version 1 (more pink):
Version 2 (bringing out the yellow and blue from the pattern paper):
Together (you can really see the black glitter sparkle here):
And a different angle showing the dimensional adhesive I used to pop the hearts off the page:
And thanks to the Silhouette blog for giving me a few extra ideas to finish this off. I had already designed the background to use with the sketch pens, but this post gave me the right inspiration to finalize the elements. Love that blog!
These are just stunning, Kelly! I love the extra pop that the glitter pens give it and how the hearts just jump off the paper! These are cards that any mother would love to have!
Great Job Kelly! I love the little pop-dot hearts! One of my fave texture tricks! Aren't the glitter sketch pens gorgeous too!
Thank you, ladies! I must say, the photos don't quite do the glitter pens justice. They look better in person. My mom's really going to love all the sparkle.
I really like these. Again, amazing what subtle differences will do.
Really pretty, love how you put this together, great idea, thank you for sharing. ๐ Lori m
To my moms: Sorry if you see these before you get them. I didn't think about "spoiling the surprise" by showing your cards before you get them in person. ๐
Great job on this card…love the placement of the hearts! ๐ Very pretty!
You know you are safe with your Mom. In fact now that we have the wonderful card in our possession, I'll have to show your Mom this blog.
Yeah, Dad. Poor Mom stuck on a cruise with no internet access so she can't see my blog! ๐
Hi Kelly~ This turned out excellent! I have some sketch pens..but normally do print and cut…but after seeing this…I might have to figure out where I put them..LOL ๐
Thanks, Heather! They're not my favorite feature of the Silhouette, but they're definitely worth playing with. Background designs are a fun use for them, like in this card. (Hope you can find them!)
