Small Birthday Gift Box
I made this box for my niece in 12 minutes. My daughter and I had just enough time Friday afternoon to go buy a gift (earrings and lipgloss), eat a quick dinner, wrap the present, and get my daughter to her cousin’s party. Instead of the usual wrapping paper, I used a matchbox Silhouette design from the 2011 Advent Calendar file set and enlarged it a bit to fit the little present. (That file set is no longer available, but if you have it it’s box #10. There’s a similar file from Silhouette here.) The 12 minutes included choosing the design, modifying, cutting, and assembling the box.
I cut the box and its sleeve from a single piece of double-sided 12×12″ paper (My Mind’s Eye Alphabet Soup), then put in some turquoise tissue paper I had on hand and tied it shut with a matching ribbon. I love a cute, quick box!
I’ve got a couple of great projects coming up on my blog this week. I haven’t posted the past few weeks because I’ve spent all my non-working time (new job, you know) making some fancy projects–one is a great freebie you don’t want to miss. See you soon!
beautiful box, a present in itself, hugs
What a cute little box. I love the pattern on it. Thanks for sharing.
