Instructions:
Software —
- Open 3D Flower #60008
- Ungroup and remove spiky centers
- Draw a circle 0.150 in.
- Drag duplicates of the circle and place into center of each “petal” segment
- Center circle visually for each petal segment (group each, if desired)
- Open Dad Accordion Fold Card #323254
- Resize smaller so width of largest piece is about 2.6” wide
- Ungroup entire Dad design
- Ungroup perforations from Dad background (welded) piece, and delete perforations
- Set Page Setup to cut Letter size paper, landscape orientation
- Cut petals and Dad background from medium green
- Cut Dad smaller letters from bright green or pattern paper
- Cut tools or other appropriate father-themed designs (optional)
Assembly —
- Use scissors to make short slits from center circle towards main leaf tip (3 slits per petal cutout, about ¼” long or less)
- Use scraper tool and/or steel ball shaping tool to curl all petals upwards
- Align smallest to largest, with six-petal shape first
- Slide each gently up the sucker stick, alternating placement of petals so they do not line up from row to row
- Glue the last petal segment in place with hot glue
- Gently bend the sucker stick so the “flower” leans slightly forward (use pliers)
- Glue DAD letters together (white glue), then hot glue to sucker stick behind the letter A
- Assemble and glue tiny tools or other designs, if using
- Use boutonniere pin (long straight pin) to pin to your dad’s shirt, just below the flower head
