Christmas Cards 2014
I finally finished my stack of Christmas cards and mailed them off this morning. I didn’t realize I would have so many other things come up that it would take more than two weeks to make 28 cards! That’s December for you.
You may think this card looks a bit familiar, and for good reason. I designed at least three different Christmas cards last year, but only mass produced one style. I never sent this one I shared on the Silhouette blog, but I loved it so much I had to use a variation of it this year. I used cool grey adhesive cardstock for the birch-trees background and rose adhesive cardstock for the red bow and sentiment. The dark grey is a heavy metallic cardstock (to which I had to add my own glue).
It took some tweaking with the settings to get my somewhat-dull blade to cut the red adhesive cardstock cleanly with these tiny details, but once I got it dialed in, it was wonderful to work with! I always slow my speed down to 1-2 when I’m cutting intricate shapes out of adhesive cardstock, and this was cut with my blade on 4 and thickness on 33 (usually 29 with a new blade).
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas this week!
