Variations on a theme: Birthday Cards
I made a bunch of cupcake cards last year, but this my newer version. The cupcakes this time are much bigger, and I used brown fuzzy vinyl for the frosting. Love it!
I also attempted to use white fuzzy vinyl for the sentiment, but it doesn’t show up very well unless the background is a dark, solid color. (But it’s still fun to touch!) I ran the cupcake base through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder for extra texture.

On this background I used my new glitter sketch pens and they are awesome! They go on nice and smooth, and the colors are much bolder than I expected. This cupcake is from the same set as the large focal-point cupcake.

This last cupcake card got a little “louder” with the extra color blocks and the rhinestone “sprinkles.” I had a lot of fun making these.

I love how something so similar can be so different on different backgrounds. And all so great.
Thanks, Kristin! Someone in your family will probably get one of these. 🙂
Hi Kelly,
I knew I would find some of your projects at the "LINK Party"… Very cute, as usual. I am out of town and unable to post any of my projects. I miss my sil… I'll be back home soon tho. Happy Easter, Marcy
Happy Easter to you, too, Marcy! Too bad you're unable to post to the link party. I'd love to see some of your projects. And I'm sure your Sil misses you, too. 🙂
Love the variety in these cards…they are all equally beautiful. 🙂 I am a new follower, so glad I found you. Would love for you to visit my blog.
Arlene.
