Cards for my Card Making Class
These are the cards I designed for teaching my card-making class. Each woman will get three kits and instructions, and I’ll spend a few minutes on instructions and general card-making tips.

I made this card with the hopes that it can be used for Father’s Day, graduation, or even a birthday. Masculine cards are generally more difficult to design, but I really like how this one turned out.

I had fun with these birthday cards. I found some great coordinating party papers by We R Memory Keepers. They’re double sided, so the women can pick their favorite side to show and no two cards will be the same. I was afraid it would be too “loud” so I went with a plain yellow base (embossed with the Cuttlebug) and plain blue candle. I made a print and cut (Silhouette) flame and found a new fun technique to add even more texture: flocking! I stamped the hearts and candles with rubber stamps on a glue pad and sprinkled on flocking. I love the extra texture! I did refrain from adding “sprinkles” to this cupcake. It would have been too busy on this card and not practical for 30+ women to make in an hour with the other cards. I’ve made the pink heart optional so it can look less “girly.”

For my final design I went with my favorite ruffled flower cut by the Silhouette, as an all-occasion card. I can get three full flowers from a 12×12 page (six sections per flower). This was the simplest I could be happy with and still have the women be able to complete all the cards in an hour. Plus I wanted to keep the cost down. The circle strip is cut from white vinyl and the center rectangle is embossed with the Cuttlebug.
The top flower card is a non-inked version (again, I can’t provide ink pads for 30+ women) and the lower card has inked flower edges, card edges, and ink swiped across some of the embossing.
I hope they like them! I’m leaving in an hour to go teach. 🙂

I'me sure they will love those cards!
The class was a success! Everyone seemed to have fun making their cards and taking them home, ready to be sent. I enjoyed it a lot, even with all the prep work. It was fun to see how some people took the materials I provided and changed the cards to suit their own style. Variety is great!
I love to see that people really do have their own style. I also love to see your style.
can you share what ruffle flower you used?
Alis in Wnderlnd, this ruffle flower is called 3d_ruffle_flower_C02598_1. If you type "ruffle flower" in the search box for the Silhouette online store it brings it right up!
Oh, I was debating about that ruffled flower the other day…it seems I will be forced to buy it now after seeing your lovely cards!
I'm glad the class went well for you!
These cards are wonderful Kelly! I am sure the class last year was a HUGE success, and thanks for providing the link for Father's day ideas. I love the star card for masculine events-like you said, it can be used for a variety: graduation, Father's Day, b-day, etc. I so admire your many talents! -Stacy
