Turkey Pencil Topper

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching here in the United States, which for my family means big get-togethers with lots of kids. I thought it would be fun to make a kids’ craft for the little ones to do while they wait for the food on Thanksgiving Day. A turkey pencil topper was my best bet. We could have as many as fourteen kids, ranging in age from three to fourteen, so this had to be a pretty simple craft.
I chose this adorable turkey pencil topper from the Silhouette Design Store, and used my stash of scraps and random fall-colored pattern papers to cut plenty of pieces to assemble these turkeys. No glue is necessary to keep the body sections on the pencil.
In keeping with the no-glue goal, I cut the eyes, beak, and snood from adhesive-backed cardstock. These pieces would be great filled with color and cut from printable white sticker paper, as well. Anything that acts like a sticker is great for big groups of kids.
With lots of variety so the kids can personalize their turkeys, this craft is ready to go! What do you do to keep the kiddos busy on Thanksgiving day?
