Rainbow Card Set With Adhesive Cardstock

We had a fun activity with the girls in our neighborhood this week. We decorated cookies and delivered them to several other neighbors whom we thought could use a little pick-me-up. I volunteered to make the cards. 🙂
I’ve mentioned this before (probably several times), but I was again reminded how much I love Silhouette’s adhesive cardstock. This rainbow card design was so easy to make multiples of because I didn’t have to worry about adding adhesive to every little piece! It was just about as easy to make eight as it was four, so that’s what I did.

Yes, I have collected every color of the rainbow in this adhesive-backed cardstock collection. Except purple. I need them to make purple! All of the rainbow strips (except the purple) and the thick black outline are all cut out of adhesive cardstock with my Silhouette CAMEO®. And I did something else clever with the adhesive cardstock…
After I cut out the clouds in white, I peeled them off the backing, flipped them over, and rubbed on white flocking powder to make my clouds soft and fuzzy. The even coating of adhesive makes adding a layer of glitter or flocking so easy! On the now-unsticky side, I used foam adhesive squares to make the cloud pop off the page.
The sentiment is black glitter heat transfer. Yup, I ironed it onto paper again.
Here are a couple of fast-motion videos for adding the flocking powder to the back of an adhesive-backed cloud, and another of actually assembling the card (with no glue for all those tiny pieces!).
You can buy the adhesive cardstock online HERE from Silhouette America; I haven’t seen the various colors in physical stores, unfortunately.

Very cool cards! Thanks for sharing how you put them together 🙂
Thanks, Terrie! So glad you like them!
where do you purchase the adhesive paper
Hi, Gloria! You can buy this directly from https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop/adhesive-cardstock/adhesive-cardstock. They come in 25-sheet packs of individual colors, so I’ve bought the different colors over time while on sale. I haven’t seen the various colors on Amazon or in my local Michael’s or JoAnn’s, but you can check there just in case. (Hint: If you buy a pack of white you can color it with markers.)
