Silhouette Alta Teaser

I don’t usually do this because I like to put out thorough informational posts that answer all your questions before you ask them, but I’m lowering my standards and just throwing a few pictures on here to show you what I’ve been doing with my new Silhouette Alta™ 3D printer.

I haven’t had a lot of time to play due to other pressing deadlines, but so far it’s pretty fun! There is definitely a learning curve, so with this brand-new machine put out by Silhouette, there is not a lot of information out there specific to this machine. However, there is a lot of information for 3D printers in general that’s quite helpful.

I’ve been putting together some video tutorials for working with the Silhouette 3D™ software, although I’m not sure exactly what date Silhouette will release them. It should be by the end of the month.

Should you run right out and buy a Silhouette Alta? Well, if you want a machine that’s easy to use straight out of the box and have no prior experience with a 3D printer, then I’d say no. If you like problem solving and researching fixes or are already familiar with 3D printers, then go for it!

For now, here are some pictures of the test prints I’ve been doing, in all their flawed glory. 🙂 I hope to bring you more information and inspiration for the Silhouette Alta soon!
