Introducing the Cameo Pro 24-inch Cutter
I’ve got exciting news to share today! Silhouette is introducing the Cameo Pro machine! This is a 24-inch cutter, and yes, it cuts a full 24 inches wide.
You may have heard the buzz from announcements made at Silhouette Summit 2019 about the Cameo 4 and its bigger siblings the Cameo Plus and the Cameo Pro. However, at that time the plan was for the Pro to be a 20-inch cutter. It’s now a 24-inch cutter. (This is one of the reasons Silhouette asks attendees at the Silhouette Summit product-release events not to go spilling all the beans. They reserve the right to change the products before they are announced to the public.)
This machine is so cool! I’ve had one in my possession for a while to test it out, and I think it’s pretty swell! It can do everything the Cameo 4 can do, but on a bigger scale. It comes with a 24 x 24 inch mat and a really nice external roll feeder that accommodates all sizes of rolls up to 24 inches wide.

Big Project
To highlight the large cutting capability, I whipped up this stenciled doormat. My design was almost 24 in. wide x 18 in. tall, and I was able to cut the stencil from a roll of 24-inch vinyl. All one piece. Easy peasy. You can’t get that large of a vinyl cutout on any other consumer-grade electronic cutter in a single piece. I can go even larger if I turn the design on its side and use the 24 inches for the height of the design, and the length is only limited by how long my roll of vinyl is.

Hello I am trying to cut 24” wide by longer than 24 with the roll feed but the basic software I have won’t let me adjust the page settings larger than 24×12. The design page settings aren’t available to click. Do I need to upgrade my software? And if so which one?
It should work if you are using any recent version of Silhouette Studio. Try this (in this order). In the Page Setup Panel, choose Machine = Cameo Pro; Cutting Mat = None; Media Size = (input 24″ wide and something big like 48″ high). Do NOT check the box for “Constrain Media to Cutting Mat.” The current release version of 4.4.895 is working well.
