S-P-R-I-N-G blocks

I haven’t decorated blocks with Mod Podge for a while, and this was a lot of fun for me! I bought these blocks at Roberts for about $2 for the 6-pack, after using a coupon. I painted them green with acrylic paint, then cut some cute pattern paper for each side. Each block is 1.75″ per side, so cutting the paper into 1.5″ squares was perfect. The paper is actually from “Nana’s Nursery” baby girl and baby boy paper packs from DCWV. I thought they were very spring-like.

I don’t actually plan on stacking these blocks, so after gluing and sealing all the paint/paper/letter layers with Mod Podge, I added some 3-D embellishments. Most of these came from a mixed bag of previously-cut-but-unused paper shapes. I glued most of them on with Mod Podge, too, which seems to be a very strong hold. Then a little green heat-set rhinestone using the i-Rock tool from Imaginisce.

I love this! Especially today when it's snowing outside I like spring projects.
Thank you! I tried to ignore the snow here yesterday morning, and this afternoon the kids are playing outside in the sunshine without jackets!
Wow, that's pretty : )
Thank you, Frk. Bogstad! I visited your blog and your projects are so beautiful!
