Loving the Silhouette!

This card may seem familiar to some of you. I wanted to recreate this card I made not too long ago. I whipped that one out quickly with parts I had on hand, but I just got some glitter sketch pens for the Silhouette and wanted to try them out. Instead of drawing the lines on the butterfly by hand, this time I had the machine do it for me. The glitter doesn’t show too well in the picture, but it is pretty in person. 🙂 I do like the glitter pens and look forward to playing with them more.
I also tried a somewhat unsuccessful technique here. I didn’t think the white fuzzy vinyl “Happy Birthday” would show up very well on the light pink background, so I inked it by blotting a dark pink pigment pad on the letters. I don’t know if it was because I used a pigment pad instead of dye ink, or if recoloring just isn’t a good idea, but I couldn’t get my tape to pick up the letters off their backing. I waited several hours and still the tape only picked up the color and not the letters. So, I used my exacto knife and picked up and placed each segment of the lettering myself. I don’t think I’ll be trying that again. 🙂

This is beautiful! I love my Silhouette too! Now if I just had some more time to create stuff 😉
Yes, isn't that the problem? 🙂
You inspire me to do so much more because your work is so, so lovely.
So pretty.
