Christmas Village
I have a new respect for designers. I knew when I started this project that I wanted to make a set of houses for a Christmas village and that I wanted my new Silhouette Cameo, with its large cutting area, to cut it out. I just assumed I could find a quick free file and embellish it to make it work. It was not as simple as that. I found several ideas I liked, but unfortunately the ones I liked best had no templates, none of the templates I could find were perfect, and none of them were easy to alter. So I simply made these from scratch (or not so simply). I designed the following in Silhouette Studio: the houses, roofs, shingles, stairs, window boxes, chimneys, windows, and trees. The snowman, picket fence, mailbox, and lamp post are not my design.
I gave this village to Heartland Paper as a design-team project. The display and template printouts are at the store, and here are the Silhouette cutting files I made. The download includes Studio cutting files for use with a Silhouette machine, PDF files that can be printed and cut by hand, and a supply list. I made these all in 8.5″x11″ format so all Silhouette machines will cut the files. (You’ll lose a tiny bit of the glue flaps on the tall house, but nothing essential.)Here are more photographs of the different pieces:

Thank you so much. I would love to have a cute little Christmas scene. Mine won't have snow though lol. I live in New Zealand. Although we did get snow last weekend in Dunedin GASP!
This looks fantastic!
That's amazing, Kelly! Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!! What a great job you did on the design – soooo cute!!
And thank you so much for sharing the files – my dd and I are going to try making these this weekend!
Kelly, I'm currently a follower and thanks so much for the wonderful project downloads. You are so generous and a true designer. Your village is wonderful and I have to create one myself.
Oh, I'm so glad someone will use these! Please send me a photo in an email or leave a comment here with a link to where I can see your completed house sets!
I am a follower. I was just asked to help with the decorations for the Church Christmas party, these will make great centerpieces. Thanks!
You are AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing–I do not have the patience to put such a thing together, but I may try the trees for my mantel. 😉 You have a great talent…and a TON of patience.
Kathie, the trees are something I've wanted to make for years all on their own. When I made this set I knew I had to have some trees like these.
Softball Clan, using these for centerpieces is a great idea! What fun!
I've been a follower since seeing your posts on the silhouette flicker page. These houses are so cute! Thanks!
Kelly! I'm already a follower and love to see what you create! These are just so cute! Great job!
Thank you, Kelly!
Love this village: It's charming! I am going to have my grandchildren help me craft it. I hope to be able to illuminate it somehow…flameless tea lights, maybe??
BTW, whenever I need Silhouette advice, your site is one of my top 5 places to look.
Thanks again!
Oh, thank you net dow! If you're using your Silhouette to cut these, you can create rectangles slightly smaller than the window shapes into the house sides themselves to be cut. I'd put a layer of vellum or tissue paper inside the house windows, then use the regular window shapes I've supplied on the outside. Then some flameless tea lights should work well to illuminate it. Great idea!
awesome you did a lot of work and it shows – these are so WOW
Thank you for the file. I will create a little Xmas town with my daughter to put on the fireplace mantle.
Amazing Kelly this is just fabulous, love it!Hugs, Lori m

Thanks for the village. I just got a cameo and want to make a village as well. Appreciate all your work; great village.
This is amazing! Not sure if I have the patience for it but I just might have to give it a shot! Thank you so much for sharing!
Michelle
Thanks, everyone! I've seen one set made by Debby. Has anyone else put any of these together? I'd love to see a picture if you have (my email is on my About Me tab under my blog header).
The link to the video tutorial is at the bottom of the post.
Remember, you can make the village as big or small as you want. If one house is enough work for this busy time of year, then just keep it at one (with a tree and a snowman, of course). 😉
I am sooo glad I found your blog.
I love, love, love this village- just what I was looking for.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent so generously and freely and for your great inspirational work.

Very cute! I don't think I have the time to create these cute houses. Maybe one of these days when life isn't so hectic. Thanks for sharing.
