Love You Card

This is the card we’ll be making for our final lesson in the Silhouette Basics class I’m teaching at Heartland Paper in Bountiful, Utah. It’s simple, but we’re using one existing heart shape, a circle, and a rectangle to make all of this. And a font from the computer for the text on a path.

The black is cut from cardstock and texture added with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The red heart is also cardstock, and the white is cut from vinyl so it’s easy to cut so small and already has adhesive.

The next round of Silhouette Basics classes will start on February 7th, and I’m excited to start teaching a monthly Advanced Silhouette class on February 16th as well.

  • I was just looking at this same heart for a card today. Thanks for the tip about using vinyl for the small items because it already has adhesive.

    • Most of this ends up in the Silhouette Plus forum, except for the actual cutting and assembly. That is a nice part of attending a class. 🙂

  • fantastic card! do you have any youtube video tutorials by any chance? or maybe an online class? I would love to learn more on how to get the most out of my Cameo!

    • Unfortunately I don't, yet. I've got four noisy kids that keep me busy (and always interrupt my attempts at video tutorials), and teach a live Silhouette class at my local scrapbook store. But I'm starting to think video tutorials might be a new direction I should consider.

For now, you can see my Tutorials tab above and ask questions for anything specific you want to know about!
