Just for Fun

I wanted to try out this little purse file I had in my Silhouette Library, so I cut one in black and one in pink. I spread it diagonally across my 12×12″ mat to make it as big as possible, so there was a lot of area on the outside edges for other shapes–which I filled up with flowers and flourishes. What else?

These flowers are a 3D flower set from the Silhouette store, but I added a little more texture and dimension to them by spritzing and crumpling the centers, then using my McGill flower tool set to give a little curl to the outer two layers.
By the time I was done I had two pretty little purses with a flower for each top. I didn’t want to glue a flower on top which would impede the opening of the purse, so I grabbed some pink and black tulle and twisted a little wire around those and hot glued the flowers to the tulle. Then I just tucked the wire into the gap between the handles and it’s a perfect little party favor.

I don’t know what I’ll do with them, but I sure like to look at them! Nothing like a little hot pink and black to make things snazzy.

Finished size is approximately 4.5″x2.25″x4.5″

3D 6-petal flower (ID #3901)

You don't get much more girly-girl than that!
way, way cute!! thanks for the clever idea 🙂
Is there a name for the purse shape? I have looked and looked, but I can't find that one. I didn't get it with my free shapes, so I'd like to buy it, if I can find it.
Thanks…the purses are darling!
Steph, I added some instructions at the bottom of the post to try and help you find this purse shape.
Thank you *so* much. I just did the "restore" and got all of the designs I didn't have!
Awesome.
Thanks so much! I just followed your instructions and got all the shapes I didn't have. Thanks for sharing!
I have this and tried to make it but I couldn’t get the handles to go into the cut part. It was like they were to big. I could force them in but they didn’t look very pretty when I was done. Not sure if I was doing something wrong or not.
I don’t remember having any issue with the handles, although it’s been a while since I’ve made this one. Did you resize the file at all? It’s possible in resizing that something wasn’t resized proportionately, which causes issues with a 3D file.
