Scrapbooking, Silhouette-Style
I took an intermediate online class on the Silhouette from Kerri Bradford at JessicaSprague.com and enjoyed it. I already knew most of what she taught, but it was nice to see her process when designing, and I did pick up a few fun tips and tricks.
I made this layout using her lessons on making a background lace (mine is the musical notes design), making a strip of flags, designing print and cut labels, tracing an image, and dragging text to a path. And the layout is loosely based on her layout in the final lesson.
I cut the music note background, the black flourishes, the label and ruler (print and cut), the pink flag banner, and the tiny flowers all with my Silhouette. The journaling is sketched with the Silhouette using an American Crafts black Ultimate Gel Pen in the Silhouette pen adapter.
I’m still looking into teaching my own online classes based on the course material I’ve already developed, but in the meantime now you know there’s something out there. And if you do live close enough, by all means take my classes in Bountiful! 🙂
You can download the music notes background I made HERE.

Love this cute layout. Thanks for sharing the class info as well.
Beautiful, Kelly. Beautiful.
Great page Kelly. You did a wonderful job with this final project!
This is lovely. I love the motion of the elements they draw the eye to the photos which are fabulous. Great job!
What a beautiful layout! I love all those pops of color against the pale, pink background…just lovely!
I might have to scraplift this page for my daughter's first recital. Thanks for the music notes background file. It will be perfect for my recital layouts, as well as band layouts. 🙂
You're welcome, Linh! I'm glad you can use it. 🙂
