Silhouette Online Class Test Run
By popular demand, I’m trying out a new class format. I won’t be giving up teaching local Silhouette classes, but I can’t reach as many people as I’d like to unless I expand online. So this Friday, July 6th, I’ll be broadcasting a live webinar class to see how it all works. It will be new to me and new to many of you, so we’ll just see how it goes.
I’d like feedback so I can run regular professional classes to teach people how to get the most out of Silhouette Studio and their Silhouette machines. The first few classes will be short and sweet, just to get a feel for how it works and how I can make it better.
Here is the information if you’d like to attend. Both classes on Friday will be covering the same content, and I’m trying these times to reach an audience across the world that’s still during my own waking hours. 🙂
Register here for the 1:00 p.m. (MDT) webinar. Choose this option to join at the correct time without registering first.
Register here for the 8:00 p.m. (MDT) webinar. Choose this option to join at the correct time without registering first.
Click here for a time-zone converter. You can input the above times with my location as Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
Are you curious? Come join me! And tell your Silhouette friends!
P.S. Yes, I did actually make this sign to hang on my door. Hopefully my kids won’t be interrupting us. Another part of the experiment. 🙂

Should be interesting. I love the sign. Hope it works! Good Luck!
Thanks, Myoriah!
I am super excited!! I signed up! Best wishes! Now I hope that I remember come friday. 😉
I'm excited, too, Megan! By registering above you should get an email reminder the day before and an hour before. (Not that that always helps me remember things…LOL)
Just signed up. I've never done a webinar before so I have no idea what to expect.
Thank you so much for offering this.
Just signed up for the 8pm. Cant wait!
Kelly Ive signed up for the 1pm class which should be about 8pm my time xx love debby xx
I'm happy to see so many of you have signed up! There is a lot bigger response than I ever imagined, and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow!
Hi! Trying to plan around nap time. How long do you expect it to last and do you know yet what you'll be covering? Thanks so much!
These will be fairly short sessions tomorrow. Since it's my first time, I want to make sure the system works so I'll be doing a little demonstration via screen share on Studio about point editing and do a little bit of live webcam shots to show a project. I'll also be testing the chat feature, and if we have time do some question and answer. I'm only planning on about 30 minutes this time. Hope you can make it!
GOING LIVE IN ABOUT ONE HOUR! …And again in 8 hours. 🙂
I registered for the earlier class but won't be able to make it so I just re-registered for the later one. I hope that's ok.
Totally fine! Anyone can register for either and attend one, none, or both. 🙂
maybe you could do a google+ hangout
Just now reading this so I totally missed it. Hope it went well and that you do it again.

Hello there. Well, it's Saturday and I've just read about this. I like the idea that you are offering an online class. I've learned a lot on my own, I'm not sure if the class would be good for me, but I am interested in the idea if you ever offer any more. I would like to become accomplished at everything silhouette, so I do consider myself a student. I hope your class went well and that you will be doing more! Please keep us updated! This is my first time on your blog, I check in now and then on the Silhouette Creative Place when I have a problem. Good Luck!
The classes will vary, so hopefully they will appeal to users of different levels. Feel free to spread the word anywhere you talk to other Silhouette users as I announce other classes!
Hi Kelly! I just received my Silhouette Cameo for my birthday last week, and although I have plenty of projects lined up, it's taking me some time to get "acquainted" with my Silhouette. In a nutshell, I know pretty much NOTHING about how to use it, so it's been slow going. I have been doing lots of internet searches on tutorials and other blogs to learn how to use it. I am hoping to learn a lot from your site, and I hope to participate in an online class when another one is available. My current problem is that I am having trouble downloading fonts to my Silhouette library. When I try to import one in, it says the file is not supported. Is there something special I need to know about fonts? I have a monogram I really like but I can't get it to import. I know there is no such thing as a "dumb question," but I think I'm going to have plenty! LOL Thank you for such an informative blog! I appreciate you!

Hi, Phyllis! I have not been able to focus on another live class this summer with our random schedule, but school starts in about 23 days (but who's counting?) and I will start up classes again. I plan on getting a Silhouette Basics course going, along with a single class about using PSE with Studio.
For fonts, you just need to install them on your computer as you would any other font, then open or re-open Studio (make sure to close Studio if it was open when installing any fonts) and those fonts should be there. If you don't know how to install a font, just let me know what operating system you're using and I can give you instructions. (With Vista and Windows 7 you just right click on the unzipped font file and choose "install".)
