Piano Card
I had the opportunity to attend an event where Jon Schmidt, a well-known pianist/composer, came to perform for our youth group. It was fantastic! We were in charge of the event, so I made this card for Jon Schmidt to go with our thank-you gift.
The sentiment says, “Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without. ~Confucius”
I’ve been wanting to use this piano cutting file for ages, ever since Susan from the Silhouette Plus Forum created and shared it way back in early January. This was the perfect opportunity. I had to also make it a masculine card, so I kept the frills to a minimum. A little ribbon and leaves was all it needed.
I cut the leaves from black Silhouette adhesive cardstock so I wouldn’t have to deal with gluing all those little skinny areas. I couldn’t find this leaf shape in the Silhouette online store, so it’s probably one of the basic shapes already included in the software.
Inside the card, I created my own liners with the offset and knife tools, and one of those I filled with a music digital pattern paper by Jesse Edwards of Designer Digitals. The font I used inside and out is Allura. The outside tag, inside liner, and music keys were all made with Silhouette’s print and cut feature.
Now back to Jon Schmidt…if you enjoy piano and/or cello music, you’ve got to visit his YouTube channel for The Piano Guys. Their videos are amazing! I know I’ll be adding more of his music to my collection.
gorgeous card Kelly!! I am sure he was impressed by your card as you were by his piano playing:-)

Hi Kelly –
Whoa, I NEED to make this one for my sweet husband at some point as he's a musician. You did a terrific job on this.
Love your tutorials and helpful hints – you make it look so easy!
