Triangle-Fold Winter Card

Are you enjoying the holiday season?  Kelly here with another card appropriate for various winter occasions.  I found this cute triangle-folds card in the online store but decided to replace the cupcake that comes with it for a winter scene instead.  These Echo Park Houses come as a cut file, but because they are so tiny on this card front I turned them into a print & cut. It makes a unique triangle-fold winter card.

It’s pretty easy to make a print & cut with a cut file.  Just use your Fill Color Window to recolor all of the individual pieces, then drag and position the pieces the way they are intended.  I usually turn off the line color, too, even though line colors won’t print by default.  Each file can be a little different, but with some “play time” in Silhouette Studio, print and cuts can be very rewarding.

Just remember when making a print & cut to check your Cut Style Window before printing and cutting.  Most of the time, you can simply select all of the pieces and choose “Cut Edge.”  If some bold red lines are still showing inside the outline you want cut, then you’ll need to select those individual pieces and choose “No Cut” for those.

This triangle-folds card (finished size 3.75” x 3.75”) is also easy to assemble.  There are instructions when viewing the file in the online store, and those same instructions can be accessed from your Library in Silhouette Studio by right-clicking on the thumbnail and choosing “Show Properties” on the pop-up menu.  Here’s a quick view of my card in its various stages of assembly.

I love the versatility of so many files in the Silhouette online store.  Don’t be afraid to change a few things in your purchased files to match the season or to make files work better for you.  Your options in Silhouette Studio are amazing!
