Hello Stamped-Sketched Card
Hello! I think Silhouette stamps mixed with sketching is such a great combination! Today’s post features the Silhouette stamping material, combined with the sketch function of the Silhouette machines.
I created this simple design with a word balloon from retro speech bubbles by putting 9 copies within a rectangle sized for my card front. I also created an inner offset for a sketched accent rectangle and wrote “hello” inside one of the word bubbles with Oogie Sketch font.
I simply used a black sketch pen in my CAMEO to draw all the speech bubbles and inner rectangle, then had my blade cut the outer rectangle.
I cut out another speech bubble (same size) from Silhouette stamping material and used it to stamp multiple colors over the top of the sketched speech bubbles. You can see through the stamp block that comes with the stamping starter kit, so you can stamp exactly within your sketched design or purposely offset, like I did here. Because the ink is black, the sketching shows up great even when you stamp on top of it.
If you have the Designer Edition of Studio and want to play a little more with your sketch tools, you can make the edges of the sketched speech balloons a little rougher. On this card I also changed my inner sketched rectangle to a dotted line (in the Line Style Window).
Both the sketching and the stamping are quick and fun, so it’s easy to make a variety of cards to have on hand.
