Christmas Neighbor Gifts 2014

Neighbor Christmas Gifts_Finding Time To Create

This year for Christmas neighbor gifts I gave these cute soap bottle boxes.  The month got so busy that I almost gave up on any neighbor gifts at all, but I found this cute 3D hand soap box in the Silhouette design store and was able to whip up 10 of these pretty quickly.

The soap box in the design store is made for a 7.5 oz. Softsoap bottle, but I found some adorable 5.5 oz. Softsoap bottles at our local Dollar Tree store.  I resized the entire design to 91% in the Scale Window of Silhouette Studio, and that was perfect for the smaller soap dispenser!

Tip:  If you’re not sure how something will turn out, cut it first with cheaper paper like copy paper to see if it will turn out the way you want.  Copy paper is not heavy enough for a box, typically, but it’s great for checking out the assembled size as a sample.

Once I had the box at the right size, I used one of the rectangles on the design to create a print & cut label with white sticker paper.  I typed out my sentiment in Silhouette Studio, and added some holly shapes and some bubbles.  Once my label was the way I wanted, I selected the option to cut the edge only, then duplicated it and used the registration marks to print & cut enough labels for 10 boxes.

It’s a little cheesy, but it was fun to have a little something to give to our neighbors this year.  What would I do without my CAMEO to throw simple, last-minute gifts together?  😉
