Lots of Layers
I made this birthday card for my wonderful mother-in-law who enables my crafty habits. She’s been letting me use her Slice machine, so I made her this card using the Basic Elements Pink design card with the Slice. I added a lot of flower layers, then inked the edges, then couldn’t stop there so added some glitter glue as well.
A friend of mine turned me on to glitter glue, which is less messy than real glue and glitter. Regular Stickles is my favorite, compared to Ice Stickles and Studio g Glitter Glue. The “happy birthday” sentiment is a rub-on by Pebbles Inc. Fancy brads for the centers.
A note about the Slice glass mat adhesive: I’ve tried both the liquid you apply with a sponge brush, and the Slice brand spray adhesive. The liquid adhesive in the tube works great if you get the right amount, but I usually put on too little for the 12×12 mat. I tried the spray adhesive yesterday and it was easy to get the right amount, but it left a bit of residue on the back of my paper. I was able to rub my finger on it to get it off the paper. The liquid, sponge-applied adhesive didn’t seem to leave any residue. Both last for several sheets of paper and plenty of cuts if you apply the right amount. To remove it, I just use a baby wipe and the scraper tool. Super easy to remove the liquid adhesive that way, only O.K. to remove the spray adhesive.
Fun.
