Decorate your Nook
Ahhh…fuzzy vinyl. Love the stuff!
My mom and dad came to visit this past week and they brought their matching Nooks with them. The trouble is, they match. My mom was differentiating hers with a sparkly sticker on the front and a little label with her name, but I knew I could do better. 🙂 I picked up this shape recently as a clearance shape on the Silhouette online store and it was perfect!
As usual, the fuzzy vinyl cut beautifully, even the intricate little swirls. And I found the magic material for transferring fuzzy vinyl designs: clear Contact paper. Regular transfer tape is too sticky, unless you spend a lot of time dabbing it on your clothes to de-tack it. But it didn’t take much dabbing with Contact paper to make it just barely sticky enough to grab the design but still willing to release it again. (And the clear stuff makes it easy to see where you’re putting it.)
I also cut my mom’s name out in fuzzy vinyl to stick on the front. Now her Nook is one-of-a-kind, plus soft and fuzzy. 🙂
Silhouette Shape: Flower #16323

I created something similar to differentiate my Kindle from hubby's. I used a swirly tree pattern and made it big enough to wrap around the edges and cut it from green, heavy duty vinyl (cause that's what I had…) It needed a few strategic cuts around the side buttons but works perfectly!
Sounds pretty! I think vinyl is a great way to personalize our little technological toys. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
I love it. "One-of-a-kind, plus soft and fuzzy." It looks good.
That is sooooooo perfect for Mom! It fits her style.
