Virtual All Things Silhouette Conference

Virtual All Things Silhouette

Have you ever attended the All Things Silhouette Conference (also known as ATS)? Before the global pandemic hit, we used to hold this conference in Peachtree City, GA, once or twice each year. The bad news is the limits on gathering have put this in-person event on hold twice now. The good news is we are having another Virtual All Things Silhouette Conference May 21-23, 2021.

Visit the ATS Conference website HERE to find out more details and to register. (Keep scrolling all the way through to read the class descriptions and to find the standard or VIP registration links.)

Benefits of Virtual Conference

I won’t lie; I enjoy the in-person event better. However, these are some benefits about the virtual conference.

  • You get to watch ALL the classes and do not have to pick and choose. These will be available to watch and re-watch until July 31, 2021.
  • No travel or hotel costs
  • Anyone can attend, not just those who can travel to Georgia
  • Door prizes will still be awarded
  • Discounted price from full in-person conference

My Classes

I get to teach two virtual classes this time. One is my own class, and for the other I’ll be representing Lia Griffith.

Giant 3D Daisy

I’ll show you how to make a giant layered daisy using a single sheet of white poster board for 12-inch Cameo users. Cameo Pro or Plus owners can make a super-size version! Working with paper can be so much fun, and poster board presents a unique set of benefits and challenges. I will guide you through my tips and tricks of cutting, coloring, and shaping poster board for this flower and for other giant paper crafts.

The daisy is almost 12″ across, and looks great hanging on an inner door or a wall. It’s made out of a single piece of poster board.

The cut file will be included with the class, and I’ll go through the whole project using poster board. If you want to use 12 x 12″ cardstock instead, that’s totally fine.

As a bonus, I’ll show on the Cameo Pro how to supersize this daisy and make it about 21″ across! Cutting poster board on the Cameo Pro opens a whole new world of papercrafting possibilities, so I’m excited to share the how-to in class. This size looks beautiful on an exterior door.

Lia Griffith Crepe Paper Rose

Crepe paper flowers are an exciting way to use the Cameo 4 with its rotary blade! I’ll represent the Lia Griffith team in teaching you how to make a gorgeous crepe paper rose! You’ll learn how to prepare designs for cutting in Silhouette Studio, how to cut crepe paper with the rotary blade, then how to shape and assemble the petals and leaves to create a finished rose on a stem. As a bonus, I will also share how I prepare cardstock templates to cut flowers by hand for those using Silhouette machines without a rotary blade.

Virtual All Things Silhouette - Crepe Paper Rose

If you’ve never made a crepe paper flower before, this will be a great introduction. While the focus will be on using the Silhouette Cameo 4 rotary blade, I’ll show how anyone can cut crepe paper by hand and assemble this beautiful rose (and smaller buds/blooms).

Are you excited for this Virtual All Things Silhouette Conference? I know I am. It’s time to convert my craft space into a filming studio so I can record these two classes. Don’t forget to register  HERE for ATS.
