Elaborate Paper Wreath with the Silhouette Cameo

Happy December! Are you making Christmas crafts? This elaborate paper wreath is not for the faint of heart. It’s basically all paper, with the exception of a foam wreath form, the little red berries (painted wood beads), and a lot of floral wire!
Tips & Tools
I used my Silhouette Cameo because several of the pieces needed 12″ strips of paper. The Portrait would have limited my cutting size. 3D crafts are where the Cameo really shines!
I did not write a full tutorial on how to make this wreath, but I will share some details so you can either attempt it yourself, or just appreciate it. The greenery and pine cones all came from a collection of 3D paper files from Hearthsewn in the Silhouette Design Store. You can find the tutorial for assembling the following designs HERE.
- Pinecones – Design ID #279267 (I used 9 in the wreath)
- Ponderosa Pine Sprig – Design ID #279268 (I used about 23-25)
- Evergreen Fir Sprig – Design ID #279265 (I used about 18-20)
- Cedar Sprig – Design ID #279266 (at least 30)
- Boxwood Sprig – Design ID #279264 (about 17)
How-To Details
I didn’t follow all the directions exactly, but close. I used hot glue instead of white glue, for the most part. I added a piece of floral wire to the center of each wrapped greenery so it would be easy to poke it into the wreath form. I used no wire for the cedar sprigs, so many of those got trimmed apart and filled in gaps at the end.

The pine cones were the most fun to make. In order to save time, I did not use the spacers. All the greens and browns in this wreath were made from Michaels Recollections cardstock in letter size (mostly from this Forest pack), and some green 12 x 12″ sheets.

I cut the red stars (Design ID #44763) from Recollections red foil cardstock and only used the front half of each star. I hot glued about a 4″ piece of floral wire to the back center of each star so those could be poked in to the wreath form, as well.

I made my own berries by hot gluing some bind wire into wooden beads, then spray painting them red. I used green spray paint on one side of the evergreen fir sprigs. I also rubbed dark stamping ink on the pine cones for some color variation.

The most time-consuming part of the project was wrapping every individual sprig, but I like the results in the end. You can tell it’s paper if you’re examining the wreath closely, but I think it has enough elements overall to keep your eyes busy.

I hope you enjoyed this project! For more inspiration, check out some of my other papercraft wreaths here and here.

Kelly! Wow! This could be THE prettiest wreath I’ve ever seen. I am amazed and quite giddy that it’s all paper.
YOU are a rockstar!
Thank you so much, Michelle! That means a lot coming from you, because I know you are so skilled yourself in paper crafts. ♥
