This pink poinsettia is from November’s Member Make, which is a monthly live online guided class included with the annual Lia Griffith membership. In 2021, Lia Griffith had master classes for both crepe paper (see my projects here) and frosted paper (I’ll be posting my completed projects soon). Only annual members have access to these master classes, which individually are well worth the cost of membership! And unlimited downloads means members have access to all current and past Member Make workshops. And all other project tutorials and downloads on the website. Seriously, this is THE BEST.
For this watercolor crepe paper poinsettia, I used the instructions provided in this Member Make Project. However, I added additional coloration with Panpastels to correct the original too-bright watercolor paint. The pattern also called for a base of extra-fine crepe paper in linen, but I used vanilla instead. Because of the new skills I’ve learned this year in coloring crepe paper, I was confident in my substitutions and alterations. It looks pretty real, don’t you think?
