Crafty Projects and Silhouette Inspiration and Instruction
I got all of my secret sister gifts finished for girls camp, and even had time to make 18 of these fabric pouches to hold them all! Originally I was going to use iron-on hem tape to make it easy, but truly it was …
Here is the fifth and final gift I made for our secret sisters at girls camp this year. I bought a bunch of 1″x8″ cello bags from eBay, filled them with mini jawbreakers, and used my Silhouette to make cute little toppers. I used the …
Here’s another secret sister gift our group of girls will give out during Girls Camp. It’s coming right up! (You can see Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5 gifts by clicking on these links.) This was another project that used …
Here’s another secret-sister gift we’re giving at girls camp. This will actually be one of the more expensive gifts at a cost of about $0.53 each (not including the pink zebra-striped Teresa Collins Freestyle paper or the washi tape, both from my stash). I …
Another day of secret-sister gifts at our LDS girls camp will surprise our recipients with body wash and a pink feather boa. Yes, a feather boa. The body wash samples and the boas were more donations that are great for a small girly gift. You …
I’ve been making secret-sister gifts for our group of girls (ages 12-18) at our upcoming LDS girls camp to give to another group of girls each day they are there. I’m so glad they put me in charge of this. Food for 50? No way. …
Here’s a fun gift my mom taught me how to make years ago. I gave these out near Valentine’s Day to a few of my neighbors, but you could do this any time for a sweet treat. I took some thin bamboo skewers, stuck …
My youngest daughter has a BFF (“best friend forever”) in her gradeschool class, and when she found out she was invited to her birthday party, she insisted that I get them matching BFF necklaces. We have a Children’s Place store nearby, so that was an …
This year for my Mother’s Day project at Heartland Paper I decided to make a bouquet of paper flowers to go in a mason jar. I like looking at mason jar ideas on Pinterest, and now I have one of my own to add. I …
A great gift for Mother’s Day or for any friend is a set of cards ready for them to send. For this project I made a set of 6 coordinating cards (2 of each kind) in a folio box. I shared this folio box Silhouette …
I made this box for my niece in 12 minutes. My daughter and I had just enough time Friday afternoon to go buy a gift (earrings and lipgloss), eat a quick dinner, wrap the present, and get my daughter to her cousin’s party. Instead of …
I made these for my kids’ gradeschool teachers back in November. I’m never on the ball for official teacher-appreciation holidays, so we brought each teacher a gift basket during parent-teacher conferences at the end of the first term. That’s a long week for teachers, and …
When I saw this calendar design by Samantha Walker on the Silhouette Blog a while back, I had to have it and snatched it right up! Paid the whole 99 cents for it…didn’t even wait for a sale. (Big spender here, I know.) With my …
I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of the Scrapbook Steals blog hop! I jumped at the chance to be a guest designer for some mystery product from the website that brings me a new amazing deal every day (twice)! …
I’m so excited to be a guest designer for the first challenge at a new e-cutter challenge blog called The Paper Cabana. The first challenge is “primary colors” so I grabbed some things from my stash and went to work. I love using clear …
Here is the tutorial I promised for making your own Grandma Word Album with Silhouette Studio. This can be adapted to make an album out of any word you choose. Just so you know, National Grandparents Day is September 9, 2012. (It’s the first Sunday …
Here it is! I can’t tell you how long I spent on this project because I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of months, collecting ideas and watching/reading tutorials, and gathering flower files. The actual cutting and assembling I spread across a couple of …
I just wanted to show this cute bag topper we’ll be making for the Silhouette Basics Class at Heartland Paper (Lesson 2 is on March 6th this time around). My co-teacher Alice came up with the cute idea and I just refined it a little. …
Here it is, the second set of cards I promised during the “Love My Cameo” blog hop. This is actually where I started, with these beautiful flower sketch designs from Barb Derksen. I made my own designs for the blog hop to match the Valentine’s …
Welcome to my stop along the “Love My Cameo” blog hop. If you have just come from Lisa’s blog at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, you’re in the right place. If you just stopped by my blog today, click on this link to Amy Chomas to …
I made these tissue box covers for my kids’ elementary school teachers. What teacher doesn’t go through a lot of tissues in a year, right? This cover will go over both Kleenex-brand square tissue boxes and Kirkland-brand (Costco) square tissue boxes. I shared this cutting …
I made a similar wedding gift a while ago, but didn’t get to go to see it opened. Last week I was able to give this gift at a bridal shower and the bride’s reaction was one that makes all handmade gifts worth it. I …
At the last Silhouette Basics class I taught at Heartland Paper, I taught how to use the point-editing tools in Silhouette Studio to make this popup place card. I forgot, however, to bring this extra project I made that shows another example using point-editing. This …
I hope you’re not tired of this frame yet. I just wanted to show one more variation of this frame I did using fuzzy black vinyl. Fuzzy white vinyl would work great, too, but I was working with black at the time. I wish you …
Here’s what I came up with after deciding not to make multiples of this frame with vinyl. I used the same shapes in Silhouette Studio, but printed them on cute Christmas pattern paper in black ink. I like the variety of color on these. Merry …
