Crafty Projects and Silhouette Inspiration and Instruction
While I’m excited to start a new year, I must say I found nothing wrong with the old one. But it sure went by fast! I’ve hit some great milestones this year, actually all within the last six weeks. My blog passed 1.5 million cumulative …
I recently got to participate in a gift swap with the Silhouette Design Team. I’m not great at gift selection and gift-giving in general, so I decided to do completely handmade (with the help of my CAMEO, of course). I have a couple sets of …
I’m breaking away from my craft-related posts today to show off my son’s Lego grand-piano creation. As he sits and plays the piano downstairs, I’m reminded of this Lego creation he made and just want to share it with you. Enjoy your day!
This year for Christmas neighbor gifts I gave these cute soap bottle boxes. The month got so busy that I almost gave up on any neighbor gifts at all, but I found this cute 3D hand soap box in the Silhouette design store and …
It’s Christmas Eve, and I’ve got one more project to share with you before the big day. This wreath is one of the free designs given away for the 12 Days of Christmas. I chose to apply it with fabric ink to a 10” artist …
I finally finished my stack of Christmas cards and mailed them off this morning. I didn’t realize I would have so many other things come up that it would take more than two weeks to make 28 cards! That’s December for you. You may think …
This year on our kids’ Christmas to-do list, they asked if they could decorate graham cracker houses. This is what we all made (kids ages 5-14, plus my husband and I). I found the recipe for the frosting and the way to cut the graham …
Can you believe how close we are to Christmas? I used today’s free design for Silhouette’s “12 Days of Christmas” freebies to decorate this Warm Winter Wishes paper mug with white flocked heat transfer material. I made two mugs, filled them with fancy cocoa and …
Congratulations, Shannon M., for winning a pack of white adhesive cardstock! (I’ve sent you an email.) Thanks to everyone who participated in the Silhouette design team blog hop and giveaway!
I made this bouquet of paper calendula flowers for a friend. I just wanted to give her something cheerful that shows I care about her, so I chose a vase of paper flowers. This paper vase was a bit bigger than I wanted at its …
Welcome to my little stop along the blog hop with all the talented ladies of the Silhouette America design team. I’m so glad you’re here! I’m first in line, although officially it starts at the Silhouette America blog. We don’t want you to miss a …
Here’s my latest paper creation. I made this elegant Pilgrim hat as our Thanksgiving decor at the accounting office where I work. I love decorating for fall! When I saw this 3D pilgrim hat in the design store, I knew instantly that I wanted to …
Hello, Silhouette friends! Let me share with you how I used this week’s free design on a couple of cards, in combination with metallic sketch pens and rhinestones for extra shimmer. This ribbon design has a lot of pieces to be placed, so I chose …
I was asked by a friend to make two sets of cards to give away at a “get-to-know-you” event. I didn’t have a lot of time to create something from scratch, so I revisited several cards I’ve done in the past to come up with …
This year I decided to be a good mom and have birthday parties for all of my kids. Well, three out of four got parties. Long story. Anyway, I figure if I am truly a crafty mom then I can make some fun invitations and …
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching here in the United States, which for my family means big get-togethers with lots of kids. I thought it would be fun to make a kids’ craft for the little ones to do while they wait for the food on Thanksgiving …
This is my junior-high-school son’s English term project. What’s inside, you say? A word. The word “emerge,” to be exact. The assignment instructions for the various projects my son could choose from were a little vague, but one of his choices said he could make …
Are you ready for Halloween? I had the chance to work with Echo Park’s Arsenic and Lace collection, which has beautiful Halloween colors. This 7” black-painted block has been sitting around my craft room waiting for the perfect project, and this Halloween block was it. …
Every once in a while, I don’t use Silhouette Studio for designing. Because this was an invitation with all text and because it would be printed at a print shop, I opted to use Microsoft Publisher instead. I was asked to make over 100 invitations …
