School Project: State Float

School Project: State Float

My son had a school project where he had to choose a state and decorate a shoe box to look like a mini parade float. Silhouette print and cut to the rescue! He told me what he wanted to include and I found lots of

Decorate your Nook

Decorate your Nook

Ahhh…fuzzy vinyl.  Love the stuff! My mom and dad came to visit this past week and they brought their matching Nooks with them.  The trouble is, they match.  My mom was differentiating hers with a sparkly sticker on the front and a little label with

Scrapbooking, Silhouette-Style

Scrapbooking, Silhouette-Style

I took an intermediate online class on the Silhouette from Kerri Bradford at JessicaSprague.com and enjoyed it.  I already knew most of what she taught, but it was nice to see her process when designing, and I did pick up a few fun tips and

Simple Treat Box

Simple Treat Box

My daughter needed a quick box before school this morning so she could fill it with candy and sell it at her class auction today. Fortunately I had a box made and unused, and a print and cut label made and unused, so we filled

Fabric Flowers with the Silhouette (Yes, More!)

Fabric Flowers with the Silhouette (Yes, More!)

I wanted to make some more flowers with my Silhouette Cameo that aren’t just for little girls to wear. Flowers in hair are pretty popular, but I don’t do big and flashy, myself. So I made some subtle little flower clips I can wear. This

Thinking of You Card

Thinking of You Card

I love white-on-white for cards. I used my Modify tools in Studio to create this flourish frame out of the design block flourish shape in the Silhouette store (one of my favorites). Then I cut it out of white Silhouette adhesive cardstock (love that stuff!).

Happy Spring!

Happy Spring!

I made these cute little daffodils, thanks to Susan over at the Silhouette Plus forum. If you want to spend some good hang-out time with fellow Silhouette crafters, or find answers to all your Silhouette questions (and crafting tips in general), then you should pop

Silhouette Silly Class: Fabric Interfacing

This is the next “Silhouette Silly” class I’ll be teaching at Heartland Paper in Bountiful, Utah.  We’ll make flower headbands like these with Silhouette Sewable Fabric Interfacing, and I’ll demonstrate other options for cutting fabric.  Only one hour this time, for any skill level.  Call

Happy Birthday Card

Happy Birthday Card

Here’s a birthday card using Silhouette Studio’s text-to-path function.  Very simple, but sometimes simple is good.  🙂  This is what my Silhouette Basics students will be learning and making during their third and final lesson next week. The next round of Silhouette Basics will begin

Fabric Flowers!

Fabric Flowers!

I’m not normally a fabric gal (looove paper instead), but I’ve been experimenting a little.  If you’ve read my recent posts you know I made these organza peonies using my Silhouette to cut them out, but I finally got brave enough to try fabric interfacing.

Mother’s Day Card

Mother’s Day Card

I had some leftover materials from my floral wreath, so I made a card to go with it.  It can actually be used as a thank you card, too, if you don’t want to use it for Mother’s Day. Supplies: Pattern Paper: My Mind’s Eye,

Floral Wreath with Paper Flowers

Floral Wreath with Paper Flowers

Here it is! I can’t tell you how long I spent on this project because I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of months, collecting ideas and watching/reading tutorials, and gathering flower files. The actual cutting and assembling I spread across a couple of

Fabric Peonies with your Silhouette

Fabric Peonies with your Silhouette

Have you missed me? I’ve been busy with a super-deluxe project that I’ll show you in just a couple of days, but for now I want to show you what I made with some delicate fabric using my Cameo to cut it. I bought this

Cutting Delicate Fabrics with Your Silhouette

Cutting Delicate Fabrics with Your Silhouette

Here’s a quick trick I found today.  I can cut tulle with my Silhouette and have no backing ironed on! 1.  Place fabric on your cutting mat. 2.  Lay clear transfer tape (contact paper or even vinyl may work, but clear will let you position

Hoppy Easter Framed Art

Hoppy Easter Framed Art

First, let me give credit to my source of inspiration.  I found this cute spring project on Pinterest and had to make something like it for myself.  Here’s Kim’s DIY spring art project from the Celebration Shoppe.  And here’s my take on it: I made

Sketch-Pen Window Card

Sketch-Pen Window Card

I made this card for a card challenge on the Silhouette Plus forum, then turned it into a class on using sketch pens for Silhouette users in my area.  I’m going to try this class again later because of a lack of interested parties this

Just for Fun

Just for Fun

I wanted to try out this little purse file I had in my Silhouette Library, so I cut one in black and one in pink. I spread it diagonally across my 12×12″ mat to make it as big as possible, so there was a lot

Silhouette Basics Class: Lesson 2 Make & Take

Silhouette Basics Class: Lesson 2 Make & Take

I just wanted to show this cute bag topper we’ll be making for the Silhouette Basics Class at Heartland Paper (Lesson 2 is on March 6th this time around). My co-teacher Alice came up with the cute idea and I just refined it a little.

Scraplifting with Silhouette Studio

Scraplifting with Silhouette Studio

Ahhh…it feels good to scrapbook again.  I decided to take on the sketch challenge from the Silhouette Blog and scrapbook a funny conversation I had this week with my two-year old, who has quite an advanced vocabulary for his age.  He’s constantly asking questions, but

Here it is, the second set of cards I promised during the “Love My Cameo” blog hop. This is actually where I started, with these beautiful flower sketch designs from Barb Derksen. I made my own designs for the blog hop to match the Valentine’s

Valentines for Kids

Valentines for Kids

I know Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but I need to share what I did for my kids’ Valentines this year. I used a pen in my Cameo to write “I choo-choo-choose you.  Happy Valentine’s Day” on train shapes, then had the blade cut

Teacher Gift: Tissue Box Covers

Teacher Gift: Tissue Box Covers

I made these tissue box covers for my kids’ elementary school teachers. What teacher doesn’t go through a lot of tissues in a year, right? This cover will go over both Kleenex-brand square tissue boxes and Kirkland-brand (Costco) square tissue boxes. I shared this cutting

Valentine’s Day Card

I’ve been playing with my sketch pens again lately in my Cameo, and this is the Valentine card I made for my husband.  I used a black glitter Silhouette sketch pen to sketch the typewriter, a dark silver gel pen in the Chomas Creations Silhouette
